Experience Required for Everest Base Camp Trek

Anyone who is fit and healthy and have a habit of walking for few hours a day can do this trek. However walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes and on some days you will have to walk for 10 hours. Aerobic exercise and jogging regularly prior to the trip is recommended to enhance your stamina. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lungs and blood diseases are required to consult their doctor before taking the trip. It is also advised that you inform Eve Holidays about the medical condition before booking the trek. Eve Holidays organizes small group trip departures, but we would suggest booking a solo private trek with us if you think you will need longer hours to cover the same distance.

Acclimatization during Everest Base Camp Trek

All of Eve Holidays trekking itineraries are planned keeping in mind the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Going up at higher altitude too fast causes a medical condition called AMS which is serious enough to kill if neglected. We are well aware that it is essential to allow you sufficient time for acclimatization to minimize the risk. However it is important to remember that some people are more vulnerable than others. So we suggest to avoid alcohol and drink enough water and get good night sleep during the trek.

The trip to Everest Base Camp we did with Eve Holidays was an amazing experience. We visited different cultural sites in Kathmandu with our guide Gyanu and then flew to Lukla for Everest trek. We had a very friendly and experienced female guide, Sabhyate in the mountains. Having female trekking guide in the remote mountains was much safe and comfortable for us. After the trek we had a Nepalese dinner watching cultural dance in Kathmandu. Thanks to Maina for Everything!

We group of four friends had been planning for Nepal trip since last year. I must say from the very first inquiry email till the last day of our trip we were very much impressed with the service of the company. Everything was perfect and more than we expected. We are very happy that all four us did the 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek without any hassle. It was all possible due to good team work of this company especially our guide Sudhir who knew the region very well and was very good at showing us every side of Nepal. We would like to visit Nepal again probably in 2020 for Annapurna trek and would off course travel with this company.
