Day Hike in Kathmandu takes you to Shivapuri Hill, at an altitude 2,563 meters above sea level which is the second highest hill surrounding the Kathmandu Valley. In this trip you visit Budhanilkantha temple, Shivapuri Conservation Area, Nagi Gompa and Kopan Monastery, all of which are the popular tourist attraction spots nearby Kathmandu.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu and drive to Shivapuri Hill, 9 kilometers north of Kathmandu. Here you will leave your car and start walk to the Budhanilkantha Temple that has a huge stone crafted image of Lord Vishnu resting atop a bed of serpents. Further we walk through Shivapuri Conservation area and visit the Nagi Gompa, a Buddhist monastery for nuns, and upon reaching the top of the hill we get to witness the picturesque view of snow-capped Himalayas surrounding the valley. From here, we hike downhill for about 2 hours and reach Kopan Monastery. After spending sometime in the quiet Buddhist atmosphere of monastery we will drive back to your hotel.
