We can organise your private Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek according to your schedule and requirements.

Accommodation during Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek

In Kathmandu and Pokhara you stay in 5* star Hotels for 4 nights. At lower elevations like Ghandruk and Chhomrong, you stay in premium luxury lodges featuring comfort-top beds, clean linens, electric blankets, and attached private bathrooms with guaranteed hot running showers. At the actual base camp, where infrastructure is limited by conservation laws, you receive the highest-grade private twin rooms available, supplemented with heavy-duty down sleeping bags, down jacket and extra fleece blankets.

Food during Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Mountain menus across the Annapurna trail offer a surprisingly diverse range of fresh, carbohydrate-rich fuel. You can enjoy authentic local Dal Bhat (lentil soup, rice, and organic curries) alongside freshly made momos, garlic soups to aid altitude acclimatization, pastas, pizzas, and even fresh bakery items. All meals are prepared using hygienic practices and locally sourced ingredients.

Best Time for Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The spring time from March to May and the Autumn months from September to November is considered the best months for Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Experience Required for Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek

No previous high-altitude trekking or mountaineering experience is required. The trail does not involve technical climbing, ropes, or walking on glaciers.

However, you should have a good level of physical fitness and cardiovascular endurance. The trail features steep inclines and thousands of relentless stone steps especially the stairs of Chhomrong. Being able to walk for 5 to 7 hours a day with a light daypack is essential. If you can handle a stair-master or regular weekend hill hiking, you can comfortably complete this trek.

Acclimatization during Luxury Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Acclimatization is built directly into the pacing of your itinerary. Unlike the rapid ascent of the Everest Base Camp route, the trail to Annapurna Base Camp gains elevation at a very gradual, safer pace. Untill day 4 you stay below 2,500 meters in lower valleys like Ghandruk  and Chomrong. You remain at 2600m on day 5 and 3230m on day 6 and you reach ABC at 4,130 meters on day 7 and fly back in a helicopter to Pokhara directly. Because you are hiking slowly up to the base camp over several days, your body has ample time to adjust to the thinning air.

Frequently Asked Questions

Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) vs Everest Base Camp, which is more difficult?

The Everest Base Camp Trek is generally considered more difficult than the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. This is primarily because of the extreme high altitude. EBC takes you up to a staggering 5,364 meters (and 5,545 meters at Kala Patthar), whereas ABC tops out at a much lower 4,130 meters. The lower elevation profile of the Annapurna Sanctuary dramatically decreases the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). However, do not underestimate the ABC route; the terrain involves steeper, relentless stone staircases that can be highly punishing on your knees during descents.

How long is the ABC trek from the Nayapul, the trek start point and back?

If you walk the entire circuit on foot, the total trekking distance from Nayapul to Annapurna Base Camp and back to Nayapul is approximately 110 to 120 kilometers round-trip. A classic trekking itinerary spanning this full foot-route typically requires 7 to 10 days of continuous hiking. However, with our high-end luxury ABC package, you drastically compress this timeline. You will hike the beautiful incline from Nayapul up to the base camp over roughly 5 days, but you will completely skip the 40+ kilometer return hike by boarding a luxury helicopter flight directly to Pokhara.

Can I actually sleep at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)?

Yes, you can sleep at Annapurna Base Camp. Cozy mountain lodges and teahouses are located right inside the high-alpine sanctuary at 4,130 meters. Spending the night at the base camp gives you the advantage of witnessing the golden sunrise over the immense south face of Annapurna I (8,091 m) and Machhapuchhre (6,993 m) the next morning without having to hike in the dark. Because overnight space is strictly regulated at the base camp, we need to pre-book these high-demand rooms well in advance.

Does the helicopter return from ABC affect altitude sickness (AMS)?

No, it actually reduces your risk. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is triggered by ascending too fast, not by descending fast. Since you spend days slowly hiking up to acclimatize, your body is adjusted by the time you reach the 4,130-meter peak. Flying down via helicopter to Pokhara (822 meters) immediately introduces you to thick, oxygen-rich air, which instantly eliminates any minor altitude symptoms you might feel at base camp.

What measures are provided to prevent altitude sickness?

All of our guides are trained on First Aid. Pulse Oximeter Checks: Your guide conducts daily medical checks to monitor your blood oxygen saturation and heart rate. Oxgyen & First Aid: Your team carries portable oxygen cylinders and a comprehensive medical kit (including Acetazolamide/Diamox). Diet and Hydration: Clean, boiled drinking water and freshly prepared garlic soups and nutrient-dense meals known to assist with acclimatization.

Is there internet access and electricity to charge devices at the base camp?

Yes. Most lodges along the Annapurna trail offer cellular network coverage or paid Wi-Fi services. Electricity is available throughout the route via solar power or local hydro-grids.
