Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu (1,300 meters)

On arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, a representative from Eve Holidays will greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 : Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhu Temple

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath, a pagoda style Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is considered to be the powerhouse of Hindu spiritual power in religious terms. 

BoudhanathStupa: Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, this enormous stupa where thousands of pilgrims gather daily to make a ritual circumnavigation of the dome, beneath the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower.

Swoyambhunath Temple: This Buddhist Stupa, said to be 2000 years old is a perfect architecture of gilded spire and white washed dome located under thousands of fluttering prayer flags. From the spire, four faces of Buddha stare out across the valley in the cardinal directions.

Day 3 :Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Tibet

We take an hour-long trans-Himalayan flight to Lhasa, Tibet early in the morning. The flight takes us over Everest (8,848m), Kanchenjunga (8,536m) and other Himalayan peaks and glaciers. Upon our arrival in Lhasa, a representative from Eve Holidays will receive you and drive for almost an hour to hotel in Lhasa

Day 4: Sightseeing in Lhasa: Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Traditional Hospital

The 17th century Potala Palace offers an awesome view of entire city and also has private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels. The Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and at the end we visit Tibetan Traditional hospital

Day 5: Sightseeing in Lhasa: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar

Foremost, our tour begins with a visit to Sera Monastery. An experienced tour guide also working as an interpreter will guide us through this preserved monastery of white-washed walls and golden roofs. Then we visit Drepung Monastery. Jokhang Temple is another important sacred site which unravels more deep seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Visit to Barkhor Market can be quite a change from other visits as we roam around the city.

Day 6: Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse (3,900m/12,796ft)

  • Highlights: Scenic drive; visit Tashilhunpo Monastery.

Day 7: Drive from Shigatse to Saga (4,450m)

  • Highlights: Drive across the Tibetan Plateau, passing beautiful high-altitude landscapes.

Day 8: Drive from Saga to Mansarovar Lake (4,590m) Travel Time 6 - 7Hours (370km)

  • Highlights: First view of Mount Kailash; rituals at Mansarovar Lake.

Day 9: Drive from Mansarovar to Darchen (4,575m) via Visiting Raksas Lake

  • Highlights: Holy bath at Mansarovar and preparation for the Kailash Parikrama.

Day 10 : Parikrama to Dehara Puk (4,900m/16,404 Feet Elevation) (6-8 Hours walk on fairly flat trail)

  • Highlights: Begin the Parikrama; stunning views of Kailash’s north face.
  • Overnight: Guesthouse in Dirapuk
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11: Hike to Charan Sparsh (21,000ft)

  • Highlights: Optional hike to touch the sacred Mount Kailash for ultimate blessings from Lord Shiva.
  • Details: A challenging 8-9-hour trek to the base of Mount Kailash, with snow encountered halfway up. Those who prefer can rest at the guesthouse in Dherapuk.
  • Overnight: Guesthouse in Dherapuk.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
 

Day 12: Parikrama continues to Dolma-La Pass (19,500 Feet Elevation) (10-12 hour hike up and down and through the valley)

  • Highlights: The holiest and most challenging day of the trek, crossing Dolma-La Pass at 19,500ft. Visit Shiva-Sthal, Parvati-Sthal, and Gauri Kund.
  • Details: A 10-12 hour trek through steep ascents and descents, ending at Zuthul Puk, the “Cave of Miracles.”
  • Overnight: Guesthouse in Zuthul Puk.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 13: Complete Parikrama and drive to Saga (3 hours drive)

  • Highlights: Finish Kailash circuit and retrace your journey to Saga.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Saga
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 14: Drive from Saga to Kerung (2,700m)

  • Highlights: Scenic drive through the Tibetan Plateau.
  • Overnight: Hotel in Kerung

Day 15: Drive from Kerung to Kathmandu via Rasuwagadhi

  • Highlights: Cross the Nepal-Tibet border and return to Kathmandu.

Day 16: Buffer day in Kathmandu
