The Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is an epic 18-day trekking in Nepal masterpiece that ranks among the country’s most diverse alpine loop circuits. Organized seamlessly by Eve Holidays, this grand itinerary merges three legendary routes into one comprehensive high-altitude journey. You will start with the scenic, glacier-carved floor of the Langtang Valley Trek, ascend to the sacred alpine waters of the Gosainkunda Lake, and conclude by crossing the rugged Lauribina La Pass (4,610m) into the culturally immersive Helambu valley trek.
Your adventure begins within the boundaries of Langtang National Park, home to incredible biodiversity, cascading waterfalls, and rare wildlife like the endangered Red Panda. Moving past authentic Tamang and Sherpa villages, you will explore the ancient Kyanjin Gompa monastery and stand dwarfed by giant peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227m). The trail then transitions from sub-tropical river gorges into a barren, spiritual moonscape where the oligotrophic, glacial lakes of Gosainkunda sit high above the clouds. After paying homage to this holy Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site, you will test your endurance over the snowy high-mountain pass before dropping into the rolling green ridges, terraced orchards, and peaceful monastic lifestyle of the Helambu circuit.

The spring time from March to May and the Autumn months from September to November is considered the best months for Langtang Gosaikunda Trek
Anyone who is fit and healthy and have a habit of walking for few of hours a day can do this trek. However walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance your stamina. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lungs and blood diseases are required to consult their doctor before taking the trip. It is also advised that you inform Eve Holidays about the medical condition before booking the trek.
All of Eve Holidays trekking itineraries are planned keeping in mind the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Going up at higher altitude too fast causes a medical condition called AMS which is serious enough to kill if neglected. We are well aware that it is essential to allow you sufficient time for acclimatization to minimize the risk. However it is important to remember that some people are more vulnerable than others. So we suggest to avoid alcohol and drink enough water and get good night sleep during the trek.
This long-haul itinerary is graded as demanding. While it requires no technical mountaineering gear, it features prolonged daily ascents, steep descents over loose stone paths, and sustained periods walking at elevations above 3,500 meters. Excellent physical cardiovascular fitness, prior hiking training, and steady determination are highly recommended.
Yes, Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is a notable factor because the trek gains substantial elevation from Syabrubesi to Gosaikunda. However, this 18-day loop is strategically paced with dedicated acclimatization rest days built in at Kyanjin Gompa. This structural planning follows the classic mountain principle of "climb high, sleep low" to help your body adapt naturally.
The absolute highest sleeping point is at Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380 meters, but the peak technical altitude of the trek occurs when crossing the Lauribina La Pass at 4,610 meters (15,124 feet). Additionally, if you choose the optional morning acclimatization side hike to Tserko Ri, you will reach an impressive elevation of 4,984 meters (16,351 feet).
You will stay in traditional, local mountain teahouses and lodges. Rooms are generally clean, twin-sharing wooden structures with common bathrooms. Your tour includes three freshly cooked meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) featuring authentic, carbohydrate-rich Nepali Dal Bhat, Tibetan stews, noodle dishes, and fresh hot tea
